Car Trip and Yakitori!

Finally I got better after 3 days, and we decided to go for a car trip! :)))

The sky is forever blue and cloudless.

The street is forever clear of any kind of trashes, and you can never find a rubbish bin to throw the trash unless you see a Family Mart/7-11/Lawson.

That's a real pain because I'm still having runny nose and I'm creating lots of "wantans" with my tissues and no place to throw them!!! T____T 

Alright I should save you guys the gross parts. Hahahaha. I'm very unhygienic. LOL. Anyway, I did try to dispose of them as soon as possible when I see any convenience store!

I'm not sure about this, but I think Japanese usually bring a plastic bag with them so they can put the trash in the bag until they reach home or until they find a rubbish bin. I really can't get used to that because in Shanghai, I get to see a rubbish bin every 10 steps I walk, and I'm not exaggerating. LOL! Speaking of culture differences!!

I'm really amazed with the discipline of Japanese to keep the recycling system going so well. Though that also make me super nervous when I was there. I'm worried that I might break some rules unconsciously and appeared to be a barbarian in such a civilised country. It is a place that you're expected to be ridiculously well-behaved. It makes me super self-conscious. 

For example, when you're in the subway, you have to refrain from talking on mobile phones, and if you're standing in front of the priority seats (seats for pregnant women, disabled person etc.) you have to turn off your phone. And in other places in the subway, you have to switch your mobile to silent mode. (ps: I didn't bother to do that because nobody calls me there anyway lol, but it still make me pretty nervous)

Right, will talk more about the interesting culture differences I discover there! :)) For now let's continue with the car trip! :))

Some snacks to keep us company on the way :)

The rubbish car in Japan. Looking so cute and clean! You won't wrinkle up your nose when you're around it because there's no foul smell at all! The only bad thing about driving behind it is it moves too slow. LOL.

At first kareshi wanna bring me to a really good soba noodle place, but turns out we were out of luck that day. It was closed. So we tried to go to another ramen place, and it was closed too!!!

In the end we had no choice but to go to Gusto, the steakhouse nearby. It is similar to Pizzahut/KFC/Saizeriya. I was really confident with Japanese food's quality so I was pretty sure it would taste great even if it's just some fastfood branches.

Both happily prepare to dig in. Everything look fantastic at first.

But after we took our first bites, we were like dropping our forks immediately and yelled, "Mazuii sooo!!!" Which means "IT TASTES SO BAD!" Hahahahahaa! 

Alright, now please don't imitate us when you're in Japan, because that's very impolite hahahahahaha, but we really couldn't help it. Coz it was totally out of my expectation. For the both times I'm in Tokyo, I have never eaten anything that taste mediocre at all, everything is fantastic, even the streetfood or super small restaurants. They never disappoint me.

But, this one. Omg, I think it is the sauce. The sauce is too sweet so everything taste disgusting. Imagine a sweet steak. T_____T

Anyway we didn't waste the food and ate everything with distorted facial expression. LOL.

After the horrible lunch, we continued our trip to the lake! :) We stopped by Lawson to get some drinks. I realised all the workers/staff there are always so enthusiastic and smiling all the time. You can hear it in the tone they speak, always so cheery.

That's another thing that I find really bizarre and amazing. I mean like, you have to REALLY like your job to be that happy and smiley all the time. I'm very sure that I can't be having good moods everyday, and I'm sure they are too, but they really treat their job so seriously and professionally. Job always comes first before their own feelings or moods. That's how and why Japanese can provide amazing services. (my own opinion though)

That's something I really admire, and I know that is something REALLY hard to do. I definitely can't be smiling to a ridiculously bad-behaved customer when I'm moody or having a bad day. Anyway, I think the whole Japanese society is super well-behaved so it makes it easier to be smiley and professional at all times. I don't think I can do that in China. LOL. Again, just culture differences. :)))

It was really cold that day! I'm glad I brought my turtleneck knitted top, coz I still feel pretty bad breathing in cold air.

Japanese can even make shit looks cute. Hahahaha omg!

The lake! :)))) Really beautiful place!

I was busy taking pictures with my phone. Oh yeah, and my phone dropped onto the ground and cracked after that. :'( So sad. :(((( Luckily it doesn't affect the camera so I still can take pictures LOL LOL.

There isn't a lot of tall buildings in Japan, I think probably because of the frequent earthquakes, it's not wise to build tall buildings. So everything is like less than 3 storeys and cute in size. :)

And my eyes lit up when I saw this place. I knew it would be perfect for photoshoot lol!

the "wheat" is taller than me and the golden hue and sunlight just make everything looks so gorgeous! :)) So we did some photoshoot there hahahaa, totally had fun!! Good thing that both me and kareshi loves taking pictures, though I love to be taken more than him :DDDD. He's more behind-the-camera kinda person :)

We spent that evening at an Outlets mall nearby the lake and had a lot of fun shopping and trying out Chinese food in Japan. :) 

My conclusion is, Chinese food in Japan is way overpriced and the taste is almost the same/not as authentic. Well, I guess I have too high an expectation because I've been living in Shanghai for so many years now. LOL. 

The pictures below were from the next day! We spent the day looking for souvenirs around kichijoji and ended up having Yakitori for dinner! :)

Kareshi just had a nice haircut :)

We had a funny-face competition, as usual, I won.

He's always good at cooking, so I let him mixing out the perfect sauce for our yakitori :) hahaha!

Japanese dimsum. Taste exactly like hong kong dimsum except you have to eat it with the wasabi mustard. T____T I hate wasabi. :(

Yakitori place is a more noisy and reckless place compared to the other places I've been. People talk louder and smoke in the place. :) Although I hate smokers I actually enjoyed myself in there because I'm kinda tired of being too well-behaved all the time. LOL. So in the yakitori place it sort of have more freedom I guess, and it reminds me of Shanghai too, the happening and noisy Shanghai, with loud-outspoken people. Hahahah!

Sipping the beer just to pose for the picture lol. The rest of it ended up in kareshi's stomach, because I really dislike the taste of alcohol. :( I dislike all kinds of bitter things: coffee, alcohol etc. Alright, except bitter gourd, I'm a big fan of bitter gourd because it's good for health hahahahahaha!

Yakitori place gives me the view of the more noisy side of Japanese! It feels nice! :)))
