TAE YANG - Eyes Nose Lips Cover (Vlog Collab!)

It has been about almost half a year since I last did a violin cover? Especially a twins version one! :) To be honest it is like the one that needs the most trouble to get it done. So I'm really sorry that there are some mistakes!!! Forgive me!

How did this start? I went to KL last few days and my baby Sera requested for a violin cover for this song! I seldom listen to Kpop so I'm not familiar with it, but when she played it for me I'm addicted to it. This song is really amazing, it just keep going round and round in my head lol. So I decided to make a cover of it after getting back to my hometown.

I took like a day to learn the song and think about the accompaniment part. Replayed JunnSungAhn's cover for a dozen times to get it right by ear. :D

The woes of not having a decent camera or video recorder. :'( I need to use my samsung galaxy S3 and then need to stack my books to get the right height to put my laptop up there as a support for my phone, it works kinda like the tripod. LOL. And the most difficult part is to get the rhythm right, so when I put both videos together it will be synchronizing nicely. I recorded for like a few times and got kinda pissed off because it is so hard. LOL.

Anyway this was the more-okay shot I got yesterday so yeah, hope you guys like it! :)))







I just shared this video on my fb today when my #bassclef babe, Fion messaged me. Such a total coincidence, she also just did a cover of the same song!!! Except it's her singing and playing guitar!!! (Even better!!!!!) Can't believe how 有默契 we are to do the same cover at the same time and uploaded it in the same day without even knowing about it in the first place!!! Crazy or what? :DDDD So we immediately decided to make this as a blog collab! :)

For a person who totally sucks at singing like me, I really envy people who are good at it! :) And I just keep replaying her cover!!! :) And I showed it to my parents too, they're like heyyyy I like her voice! :))))

Besides, it is really hard to get the right Korean pronunciation right, for instance, I totally can't speak any decent Korean. LOL. Probably Annyeonghaseyo? But in a very indistinguishable way ahhahahaha, so imagine how cool is it when someone can sing so fluently like that!

Collaboration Post: Q&A Vlog with My Babes! :D

Hey babes & dudes! I've got back to Shanghai for a week now! And it has been a really hectic one. A huge contrast to my super relaxing days in Malaysia. *missing Malaysia already!*

Just one week back here and it is so god damn happening I already have dark circles and pimples popping out on my face. For 2 consecutive days I have 4 gigs lining up and school was fun too! Though I'm craving for more napping time. 

It's really funny because I've been talking to Fion almost everyday, and there're a lot of time when I was napping and at the same time I'm talking to her too. She was like, "Are you sure you're taking a nap now? Why are you still talking to me?" Hahahahaa! Well, I really am trying to have a little rest, but my Wechat just keep getting messages, people asking me to do stuff, or going to gigs, or even asking me to help to find people for some part-time jobs blablabla. You name it. LOL.

I don't know, sometimes I just feel really tired. *maybe I just need to learn to say no,I'm still working on that. It's some personality problem. No good.*

Actually it is Fion's idea, since we didn't do any collaboration for a long time, and she thinks it will be really fun to do vlog again! :) I was like YES I'M ON! Totally spices up my blogger spirit hahahahaa! There're 4 of us joining this collaboration: Fion, Maple, Ivy and me!

We decided to do a Q&A Vlog. So where do we get the questions? To make it more fun, each of us will provide 5 questions, so everyone will answer the other 3 ppl's questions, adding up to 15 questions altogether! :) It's a good way so every video consists of 5 different questions! Hah! :)

I only took like 1 hour totally to take the video. I didn't think about the answers much, just spontaneously answer them in the video, so I'm sorry for a lot of "uhm..." and "ahh..." LOL! I was like omg it is 11 minutes in total, why I so long-winded?! Hahahaa!

Tell you guys a secret I've been trying to hide for a long time. *serious face*

Actually, I have a twin sister who look exactly like me. As in....... EXACTLY like me. Lol.

I think it's now time to introduce her to you all. Her name is Xixi No.2. 

Okay, that's a lame name. Hahahahaa! Fine. Enough craps. 

The true story is my baby girl, Sera, had requested me to do a violin and piano cover of the song Heartbeat by 2pm. I was happy with the request because I had been staying at home everyday with nothing else to do but eat, sleep, practise and cook. LOL. So this turned into an exciting and challenging project.

However, there was a problem. I didn't have anyone to play the piano accompaniment part for me. :'( I tried to ask some of my pianist friends to help but none of them were in Malaysia. And I thought this cover was not going to work out. :( If only I could play the piano and violin myself, at the same time. :(

*smack head* HEY, RIGHT! If only I could play the piano and violin myself, at the same time!!! :D

I had saw a lot of videos on Youtube where ppl clone themselves in video and I thought that was pretty amazing. And now I think I can use that technique in my video to solve my no-piano-accompaniment problem. :) So I started to search online on how to clone myself in the video and then downloaded the required software to get it done.

This whole thing is like solving a difficult math problem. LOL. You'll have to do it step-by-step. After I get the general idea of how to work with the software I started to work on the music. There was a sheet music I found online but it doesn't really match the real recording so in the end I had to listen to the original video again and again and improvise myself on the piano. Haha. Just like ear training class.

Recording is the hardest part. I need to record the violin part and piano part separately, so I need to make sure the rhythm is exactly on time. It doesn't help when the bass of the piano part is full of semiquavers lol. I have to keep counting semiquavers like crazy when I am playing the whole time. Going insane already. 

I spent like 3 days recording and finally got the not-so-bad version. At least now the rhythm is pretty much in place. Hahahaha. I'm really happy to get a lot of positive comments on FB! Thank you so much guys! :)

My friend, Osman, commented on my previous video saying that I could try making a Hari Raya Song Cover next time. And I was like, heyyyy that's a good idea! :D 

So I came up with this Hari Raya Song Medley that included 3 Hari Raya songs. Aidilfitri, Balik Kampung and Selamat Hari Raya. :)

I don't feel like letting my clone to play piano this time, so I decided to let her play percussion instead. LOL. Well, if you don't have drums/percussion stuff at home, you can always improvise. :)

Piano & Violin Cover of Corrine May - The Answer. :)

Hello darlings! Do you miss me? Hahahahaha! It has been days since I updated any selca pics in my blog. XD Been pretty lifeless lately, hence I only updated all those beautiful things to share with you guys because I have basically nothing happening in my life. :'(

Anyway, I've been up to a video project starting 2 days ago, thanks to my dear sis, Lei Panganiban! ;) She's a beautiful ice-skating princess that I get to know on Facebook. She won a lot of prizes in International ice-skating competitions, really impressive and talented!

Lei had tagged me in a video "The Answer by Corrine May" and she said she hoped she could hear me play it in violin. So I think, why not? LOL.

I tried to google for some accompaniment mp3 of that song but came up with nothing. And I can't play the piano and violin at the same time LOL. What to do??? At first I really wanted to make those amazing videos like JunCurryAhn or Pianoguys did in their videos, which was creating your "clones"! Haha! Sadly I have no idea how that's done. So...... I'm can only record piano and violin separately and then use my ultra newbie movie-making skill, which is "split","remove","fade in","fade out" and adding Titles, Captions and Credits. LOL LOL. #noobie I'm really sad that the music isn't in one piece. :'( Anyway, I'll try to do better next time, so please bear with it for now. T______T 

Anyway before going to the video, have to shower this post with some selca pictures first. Hahahaha! These pictures are taken in the middle of recording because my mom's friend suddenly came to visit so we had to cut off the recording session for a while. ;D

Btw my brother took away our printer, so I can't print the piano scores out. I'm too lazy to find some printing shops lol, so I put the whole lappy on my piano and sight-reading like that WTH. XDDDD

Credits to my mom for being the videographer! :) I took around an hour to practise and then record. I know there're still a lot of space for improvement. :)

Again, I'm really sorry for the whole cut-paste quality of the video. :(( It ruins the music because it sounds like it's in pieces. T____T

When Xixi Plays Piano.

Hi peeps! It's video time! LOL. :)
A huge thank you to Maple for teaching me how to edit video, so yeah, this is something I record for fun in order to try out my newbie video editing skill. Guess this one is easier than those make-up or hairstyle tutorial because all I need is just one or two takes. XD Make-up/hairstyle tutorial need takes from so many angles and also need speeches and captions afterwards, I'll try that some other time. Haha.

I've always love Chopin's Nocturne, I'm sorry if I don't play so well because I'm not a professional pianist. And I don't really know the right way to pronounce the word "Nocturne", can someone please enlighten me? :D

Maple did an amazing job in editing, so everything is clear and fun! Hahaha! Remember to change the video setting to 720HD or 1080 HD so you can view it in better quality! :D

How to change the video quality setting: 

1) Move your mouse to the video, and check out the loading line at the bottom of the video.
2) At the bottom right of the video, there'll be 4 icons that indicate Change Quality, Watch Later, Watch On YouTube.com and Full Screen.
3) Click on the first icon (Change Quality) and choose the video quality that you want! The higher the number, the clearer the video is! :)

Sorry because some of the parts doesn't sound so clear because the wind is too strong. Enjoy! :)

Miki's In Shanghai! (Day 2)

Hello peeps! I'm enjoying China's National Day one-week holidays right now, supposed to have more free time to update my blog, but no idea why my days are all full with activities I didn't even have time to online. T___T

Day two with Miki!

We went to People's Square to take Purikura! This time we asked pretty Sayuri along!

Taking Purikura is like our annual ritual. :) Miki told me last time that Purikura was something that you take with your best friends, as a symbol of friendship. ;P

Miki asked me to put on the "model" face and I ended up looking constipated fml. T___T hahaha! And Miki wouldn't stop laughing at me. LOL!!!
